Remember I posted about my wedding dress earlier on before the wedding when I made my decision. See previous post here – http://www.lolawale.com/2011/11/28/the-dress/
Did my actual dress meet your expectations? I hope so. I absolutely fell in love with the dress once I tried it on. I loved (and still love) the intricate details and the bling; it all worked perfectly for me. The designer was awesome enough to make straps for the dress, which I wore during the ceremony. Thanks to Love Couture Bridal and Stephen Yearick!
Big tip to brides… the last few weeks to your wedding, especially the last week, make sure you consciously eat because the last week tends to be the a bit more stressful than others because you are thinking of one thing or the other and can forget to eat. Or you are so excited and anticipating the wedding and you can get al nervous. I lost 9 pounds the week of my wedding without knowing. Nine pounds!!! It was rather interesting. I really was not stressed out that week but I guess I forgot to eat some meals, lol! I did my last fitting the Monday before the wedding (wedding was on Saturday) and everything was fine. I should have done another fitting on Thursday. I did not realize I had lost weight until I put on my dress the wedding morning and I was like woah! My mum kept telling me I had lost weight but I did not really think I had. All the weight is back though, thankfully!
I wore crinoline (a.k.a. poofy skirt) under my dress but it was a small one that made the lower part of my dress stand and it also accentuated the mermaid style of the dress. If you are a bride to be… depending on the style of your dress, you should consider wearing crinoline. It does make a huge difference.
I loved the detachable straps made for the dress;
The dress did not come with a bustle but the seamstress who did my fitting put some in. The bustle is really to hold up the train on the back of the dress so that it is somewhat easier to walk, dance etc. My dress was quite heavy so the bustle definitely helped.Enjoy your week!
