How do you feel?

The week of the wedding, this was a very popular question from different people. The truth is I do not even know how I was feeling; lol!  I guess I was thinking about the plans and details that I was not really thinking about getting and being married or the wedding day. Plus, I had family and friends in town and they were all so amazing and loving; willing to help out in any way they could. Planning a tent wedding at a venue that has only the grounds for the wedding is no joke!

I find that people usually ask “how can I help?” As much of nice gesture this is, it doesn’t really do much for me because I usually can’t answer. I usually respond saying – “I will let you know” or “Nothing for now”. The more productive questions for me are questions like “is your seating arrangement completed, can I assist you with that?” “did you remember to call the DJ?” “Are you done with your programs?” “have the favors been put together? If not, can I assist with that” These types of questions that are specific and more beneficial because it is more of a checklist as opposed to an open ended question. I always try to ask these types of questions to the clients I work with or to my friends and the results are usually more productive and I help out a lot more.

I have the most amazing friends. I wanted to share this with you all. One of my darling bridesmaids basically made a “to-do list” for me a few days to the wedding and sent it to my phone so that I could stay focused. This is one of the little things that really helped me. I knew at the back of mind what I needed to do but putting it all on paper made it clear to me and helped me keep to time.

I think it is important to be relaxed and calm the week of your wedding so that you can enjoy the actual day to the fullest. My friends booked a massage appointment right before the wedding which really helped me relax. I actually fell asleep after the therapist was done. Lol!

The ultimate was my sister, Yewande. The morning of the wedding, I woke up to a nice back massage, foot massage and facial. She did an AWESOME job. I felt sooo special. I also got breakfast in bed. Thanks dearest sis!!!!

Stay hydrated in this awesomely hot weather!

And we are back!

Hi everyone! I intended on having one more post before the wedding day but I did not get around to doing it. Time was definitely “running” the week of the wedding.

We had a great time during our wedding weekend; starting from the pre-party on Friday to the actual wedding on Saturday. We thank God for everything; there was sooo much going on that weekend. There was a major storm on Friday which left some buildings without power. We thank God because our venue(s) had power and our events could still go on. We had a great time and hope our guests did as well.

We just got back from our honeymoon in Phuket, Thailand. It was amazingggg! It was such a relaxing and refreshing time for us. It took us quite some time to get there, but it was well worth it. We are finally back and already back to work (bummer!). We will share pictures and our experiences in subsequent posts.

This post is mainly to thank all our family, friends, well-wishers and vendors for making our day special and making our dreams come true. We truly appreciate each and every one of you and we pray God will continue to bless and prosper each and every one of you.

Have a great week!

Napkin Fold

22 days to go!!! Yipee!

There are just not enough hours in a day! Jeez!  The famous questions I get now include – “how many more days?” “ Are you ready? You should be since you have been planning for a while”

Well am I ready? I think I am, lol! Wale and I are finalizing the final details including how we want our napkins folded; floor plan; number of guests etc.

Speaking of napkin folds; there are sooooooo many ways to fold napkins, sheesh! It was a tough decision but I think we made it work. Take a look at the options we came across along the way.

Bridesmaid VI

I am finally down to my last bridesmaid *sniff* *sniff*. Please meet Omowumi Vincent-Rotimi a.k.a Moskilowes, Momo, Omo.

Omo and I met through Dolapo Olusanmokun. I met Dolapo in 2007. Omo and Dolapo started attending JHDC in either 2006 or 2007, not sure exactly when. I became friends with Dolapo pretty quickly and she introduced me to Omo who I got along with very quickly as well. We have a lot of things in common – we like geeeeeest! Lol! Omo likes taking care of EVERYONE!!!! Mother hen, jeez! She doesn’t like answering questions about herself; rather she wants to make sure everything is okay with YOU. Every one of her close friends know that her heart is golden; she is very selfless and goes out of her way to make sure she puts a smile on  people’s faces. We also both like to plan events, dinners, parties etc.

Omo and I also have this love-hate relationship; “you were supposed to call me” “no, you were”; “you didn’t answer my question” “but I did, nau”; “brb” “you’ve  been brb-ing for two days now o”; “you didn’t tell me that’s what he said” “ but I did and you forgot”  lol!! It’s probably because we are alike.

We’ve had plenty fun times together and I pray we have many many many more!!!! Love you to pieces!

Bridal Shower

Hi everyone,

I had a BLAST at my bridal shower on Saturday. I felt pretty overwhelmed with all the love, support and GIFTS! I am extremely elated and wished it continued to go on for the entire weekend!:-)

I would like to give a big shout-out to my wonderful sister Yewande for planning and organizing the shower. It was loads of fun. The set up was great, the food was great, the games were fun, the music was on point and the gifts were amazing.

Thanks to everyone who  came and all who also contributed, I truly appreciate it! You guys really reallllllllly made my day and I am very grateful for it. My wonderful boo, Wale surprised me towards the end of the shower and brought me roses *love stuck*. Thanks babe!

As part of the shower activities, a lovely video with pictures of me was played. The video was put together by one of my adopted big sisters who I call mama (aka Motola Dekalu-Thomas) was played. I thought I would share this with everyone in order for you to have a feel of how the shower went. Please click on the link below –
